Privacy at Destination Human
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Destination Human is a place to explore what’s happening inside you. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, write to us at privacy@destinationhuman.ai.
The short version
- We collect what you share with Destination Human so it can respond to you and, if you choose, remember you over time.
- We protect your information with encryption and access controls.
- We don’t sell your information, show you ads, or use tracking or analytics tools.
- We use trusted service providers to run Destination Human, including to generate its replies.
- You can download your conversations or delete your account at any time, from Settings.
What we collect
If you ask for early access: your email address. We email you once to confirm the request. If you don’t confirm, we delete the address within a week. Once confirmed, we keep it until you create your account or ask us to remove it. Every email we send has a link to do that.
When you have an account:
- Account information, such as your email address, your name, your password (stored only in a form we can’t read), and any passkeys you add.
- Your settings, such as whether Destination Human remembers you between conversations, your country and your time zone.
- Your conversations, including what you write, the replies you receive, notes you choose to import, and what Destination Human learns from them to follow you over time, if you choose to be remembered.
- Safety information, such as a record when a message suggests you may be in crisis.
- Technical information needed to run the service, such as when messages are sent, the devices you have allowed to receive notifications, and a scrambled form of your network address that we use to prevent abuse.
Cookies and storage. The app uses cookies to keep you signed in and to recognise your device for notifications, and saves your display preferences in your browser. This website sets no cookies. Neither uses advertising, analytics or tracking tools.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- provide Destination Human and respond to you;
- remember you over time, if you choose;
- keep you and the service safe, including recognising when someone may be in crisis;
- operate, support, maintain and improve Destination Human;
- communicate with you about your account and early access.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we never use it for advertising.
How we protect it
Your conversations and the personal details in them are encrypted when stored and when they travel between your device and us. Access to personal information is limited to authorized people who need it for the purposes above.
Who we share it with
- Service providers that host and run Destination Human for us, including providers of the AI models that generate its replies, email and infrastructure. They may use your information only to provide their services to us, and our AI providers do not use your conversations to train their models.
- Notification services: if you turn on notifications, your device’s notification service delivers them. Notifications never contain what you wrote.
- When the law requires it.
Where your information is
Your account and conversations are stored in Canada. Some of our service providers may process information in other countries, including the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.
If you’re in crisis
Destination Human is not a crisis service. When a message suggests you may be in crisis, it shows you crisis lines for your country, such as 9-8-8 in Canada. We do not contact emergency services or anyone else on your behalf. If you need help now, call or text 9-8-8 or go to your nearest emergency room.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and conversations until you delete your account. When you do, we delete them right away, apart from backups, which are removed on their own within a short time (up to 7 days). We may keep limited records that no longer identify you, and system logs for a short time. Early-access requests that are never confirmed are deleted within a week.
Your choices and rights
In Settings you can download your conversations, delete your account, change your email address, pause memory, and turn notifications on or off on each device.
You can also ask us, at privacy@destinationhuman.ai, for access to the personal information we hold about you or to correct it, or ask about anything on this page. We’ll answer within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
Age
Destination Human is for people 18 and older.
Changes to this page
If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and its date. If a change matters, we’ll tell people with an account before it takes effect.
